Dyldam Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman says the side is shattered following tonight’s 28-16 loss to the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

After fighting to stay in the game until the dying minutes, Norman says execution let the team down.

“Our discipline in the first half was shocking, we gave away that many penalties,” he said.

“We keep saying we can only defend for so long, and it takes the extra energy out of us that we don’t need; and in attack, a few execution things let us down there, definitely.”

“It was a disappointing loss, and it hurts more when you’ve worked so hard in the game and to end it that way is disappointing.”

“It hurts even more knowing you’ve given your all and you come up short.”

Norman highlighted the performance of winger Bureta Faraimo, who scored a hat-trick of tries in the game.

“Bureta, since he’s come in has been strong every week; he’s always got strong carries for us from the back field, and he can find the line which you need as a winger, and he’s safe under the high ball,” Norman said.

“So I think Bureta’s coming along really well.”
