Description –

The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have come away with a clean sweep this weekend, with victories from the Blue and Gold NRL and Holden Cup sides over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, the Wentworthville Magpies Intrust Super Premiership NSW victorious over the Penrith Panthers and victories in the Junior Representative competitions over the Canberra Raiders.

The Wentworthville Magpies lower grade sides were also victorious this weekend, with a 24-22 victory over Blacktown in the Ron Massey Cup and a 42-22 victory in the Sydney Shield competition.

A Blue and Gold clean sweep has not occurred since the opening week of the 2014 NRL Telstra Premiership, where the Blue and Gold came away 36-16 victors over the New Zealand Warriors to kick off the season.

On that weekend, the Eels NYC came away 50-24 victors, Wentworthville Magpies had a 38-24 victory at Belmore and our Harold Matthews side beat the Sea Eagles (26-8) and the SG Ball side came away with a 24-22 victory.

The Harold Matthews and SG Ball clashes were their respective Round 4 games of the District Representative competition that season.

The 2016 Junior Representative competition has three more rounds remaining before the Quarter Finals. The Harold Matthews side currently sit on top of the table, with six wins from the opening six rounds, whilst the SG Ball side currently sit sixth, with four wins after six rounds.
