Parramatta Eels lock forward Nathan Brown has capped off his debut season with the Blue & Gold by claiming the 2017 Ken Thornett Medal for Player of the Year at the Club’s presentation evening at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse tonight.

Brown capped off a strong night for by being voted the Blue and Gold Army Members’ Player of the Year.

"I feel very honoured," Brown said.

"I am lucky enough to be part of such a great Club and this players' award, the Ken Thornett Medal, I am very priviledged to get this award from your players, so I am very happy."

"I am lucky enough to meet a lot of people at this Club, they have helped me a lot this year and I can't thank them enough." Brown added.

"All the Members and fans, all the support us players get, it doesn't go unnoticed and they are going to be a crucial part of us leading into the Finals."

The lock forward now has his eyes set on finishing the year strong, starting with this week against his former Club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

"They [South Sydney] will look to finish the year strong and the season on a high. It is always fun versing your mates and we [the Eels] just have to get the job done and get the two points." Brown said.

"This is the first Finals series that I am going to be a part of and I am looking forward to it." Brown added.

"As a player, this is where you want to be at this time of year so I know that everyone is looking forward to it and we can't wait."
