The Parramatta Eels are preparing to take on the Gold Coast Titans at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night, in Round 24 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Blue & Gold Head Coach Brad Arthur says the side is disappointed after suffering a defeat to the Newcastle Knights last week but they will need to move on quickly this week.

“It was disappointing, but we have to move on pretty quickly because we have a fired up opposition tomorrow,” Arthur said.

“It’s not concerning, but it was a bit of a wake up call and an attitude readjustment for us, going into this week’s game.”

“It was pretty simple, we got all the basic fundamentals wrong but I think that comes back to our attitude to our preparation to our game. We thought we might be able to just cruise through and get a soft win instead of working hard like we have been over the last two months. “ Arthur added.

“We don’t want to be having any of those games to tell you the truth, but it has happened as there is not much we can do about it now except our actions tomorrow night.”

Arthur says the side must return to playing the style of football that saw them come away with six wins in a row.

“They have been great at training this week. Like I said, its an attitude adjustment for us and they have been really good.” Arthur said.

“We just need to worry about what we need to get right and our improvements from last week.”

“We didn’t play as a team last week and we need to get back to playing as a team this week.” Arthur added.

“We are hurting after a poor performance and we need to be better tomorrow.”

And Arthur knows that despite the Gold Coast Titans postion on the ladder, they will be a tough and desperate opposition.

“They will be fired up, and they will be ready to play,” Arthur said of the Titans.

“Everyone plays to win and every team has pride in their performance and they will be no different.”

The Eels kick off against the Gold Coast Titans at ANZ Stadium on Thursday 17 August in Round 24 of the NRL Telstra Premiership, kick off at 7:50pm.
